About me

Not too much to tell. I’m a Macon native currently residing in…well, Macon.  Attended UGA for as long as possible from Fall of 1994 through Spring of 2001, obtaining a degree in Chemistry in 1999 and one in Ag-Engineering in 2001. Currently working in Macon as a civil/environmental engineer. I was fortunate enough to meet my wife, Amber, in Athens and we married in 2003 and are the proud parents to a lab named Walker that is convinced he runs the house. I graduated from Mount de Sales Academy in Macon in 1994 and thus was born my ‘vent handle of DeSales Dawg (I’m incredibly original, as are most ‘venters).

I started the writeups in 2002 (I think, not even close to sure on this) as an office update thing.  We’re a bit of an oddity in the engineering world, being a largely UGA-centric firm. As the writeups got forwarded, they grew and became more of a formal thing. Actually I think they started as a recruiting writeup originally and they sort of morphed into game writeups. Now that recruiting has become huge there’s not much need for the old recruiting wrapups although I still do a signing class edition occasionally. Now the writeups pretty much control my life from the end of August through bowl season.

I’ve spent various parts of my post-UGA life being really into all kinds of different stuff…cycling, golf, racquetball, adventure racing, avoiding running, etc.  I used to be pretty darn decent at golf but can’t bring myself to commit the time to be good at it anymore.  I still play on occasion but it’s ugly more than pretty although if pressed I can still crank out a mid 70s round on occasion.  I haven’t been pressed in a while though.  I spend most of my year wishing the fall would hurry up and get here for 1) football and 2) better weather, then I spend most of my fall waiting for an off week so I can take a break from the writeups.
