After last week I had every intention of sitting down and writing some stuff mid-week but when I tried I realized I was just too drained.  These games are decidedly more fun but good grief is it making it hard on us fans.

Oh well, Arizona State comes in this week.  Let’s show ‘em some of that good ol’ Southern hospitality.

These things are considerably more fun to write after we win.  They’re most fun to write after we win big against a big rival.  SC is way down that list but the presence of Spurrier bumps them up a couple of spots.

Anyway, good win.  Who bet the under?

2009-Week-03-Ark

Word on the street is that Logan toook all the snaps with the #1 offense yesterday and will start on Saturday.  In this case the street is ugasports.com.  Of course he was told he’d start last Saturday because of Cox’ illness but we’ll see.  As to why Cox won’t go, it’s hard to say, rumors have swirled for a month or more about him having a dead arm and it’s possible he injured it further in the game.  His arm certainly didn’t look like what it has in his other opportunities.  I’m sure this is tough for Cox to handle given his 5th year status and after waiting behind Stafford all that time.  I hate it for him.  We’ll find out now how well Logan can play.  He’s got the talent for sure but I’m thinking we probably see a pretty conservative approach.  This likely means Aaron Murray’s redshirt is gone, which also stinks, but there’s not way we can have a walk-on as our primary backup.  I’m guessing Richt would have preferred this staying under wraps but it’s all over the place now.  Good luck Logan.

Edit:  Who knows, now we’ve got statements from UGA saying that Cox is starting for sure.  I’m guessing the plan wasn’t for this to become public knowledge but it certainly appears that Cox will start and Gray will see significantly more time than his 1 snap in Stillwater.  So much drama.  Harkens back to the early years of Greene’s tenure when we wondered how much DJ was going to play.

Last week was painful.  Can we go back to the old days of destroying out of conference teams, especially on the road?  Oh well, let’s put it behind us and beat Carolina.

Edit:  Oops…disregard the time and station on the writeup.  The game starts at 7 and it’s on ESPN 2, not 7:45 on ESPN.

OK, wasn’t anticipating the new laptop not having a pdf writer on it.  Also wasn’t anticipating some of the resultant issues of downloading one.  This took longer than I had hoped.  Oh well, not your problem…just mine.

Anyway, here’s the writeup.  The snazy new banner logo got butchered pretty good in the conversion to pdf.  Oh well.  There’s always next week.
